today i'm making this video out of pure frustration i love you guys but this business mistake that everyone has been making this i've literally seen this over the past three years as a consultant has got to stop what am i talking about i am talking about paying more than your filing fee to file your llc i literally had a call today with a girl that paid 750 dollars for an llc now i live in ohio so our llc filing is only 99 dollars yes she lives in ohio you can see why i'm annoyed people claim oh i pay i'm paying for my llc because for the convenience no you're lazy you're lazy and good business owners care about their bottom line so this is ridiculous but never to fail keep watching this video because i'm going to show you how to file your llc if you live in ohio but i'm going to also give tips in the comments for wherever you live um so that you're not paying legal zoomer any by the [ __ ] else to pay more than just the filing fee you can file your llc yourself and for all of my ohio viewers and subscribers we're going to do it together okay because good business owners save as much money as possible keep watching okay so when you first google the website it's going to take you to the ohio business central once you get here you're going to click here from here you're going to collect business filing now i already have an account if you've never been on this website you're going to click click here to create a profile and you're going to go through the prompts if you have you're going to just put in your putting your logins from the last time you filed for an llc if you forgot do a forgot password or forgot signature when you get this when you're creating this profile at the end of it it's going to give you four letters four to five letters you need that which is going to be your e-signature you're going to put that right there make sense okay so now i'm in so once you're in here you're going to file a new business or register a name you're going to go here now you're going to choose one we're doing an llc so we're doing a limited liability company and it's 99 regular processing fee you do not need it rushed unless you do then all you're going to do is you're going to search the business so i'm going to type in madison galleria let's see if that's available all right cool no records have been found which means we can file it we're going to go to begin filing all right and then you're just going to follow the prompts so we're going to put madison galleria in we're going to say today it's going to be this date or whatever period of existence if you don't know what the [ __ ] that is and you forget it's literally right here okay now this is a for-profit business now purpose clause all we're going to go do is we're going to go get the purpose clause for llc's um i know exactly which one i'm looking for we're going to get this this right here i did this for a month for mine it's not that big of a deal we're going to come back over here and we're going to file and paste this that's all we're going to put and i'm going to put that purpose clause in the comments too then you're gonna put in all of your information so the agent's name is gonna be your name so i'm gonna put in christina mendez i'm going to put 101 it's making up um something because i'm not giving my real address one minute or four five four one five um my business email and then individual agent or individual casino on behalf of the corporate agent must enter his name here below to accept the appointment so they're gonna put your name again all right cool looks good save and continue now add statutory agents you don't have anybody to add your font you're not adding anything special we're going to save because no no attachments needed and continue then name of the business entity so we're gonna put your name again now look madison galleria christina mendes and i would say continue all right so now let's review everything madison galleria it's going to be on this day period of existence and this would only apply if like you were already in business and you want that to count towards your llc so for-profit business you have your purpose calls in there your first and last name it's going to be called this it's going to be called this all that [ __ ] is cool you're going to preview the document it'll give you a document like this make sure all that [ __ ] is correct um let's see then it's going to ask you some like [ __ ] questions montgomery county looks like i said day in ethnicity woman next next next you're gonna fill it out um all right cool then we're going to get all the way over here now you're going to do verify for checkout you're going to click these add selecting checkout you're going to click this it's 99 i don't need an x i don't need to expedite it pay for filings and there you are confirm and proceed you have just filed for your llc that's all this is it's not that complicated um i'm gonna back out of this because i'm not filing this llc but literally that's all it is i'm gonna put the dot the steps below that's it

without prior written consent of the author a limited liability company is a hybrid between a corporation and a partnership an LLC protects your assets in the event of a lawsuit in order to form your LLC you must file LLC formation documents with the Secretary of State once your documents are approved and sent back to you your LLC is now in existence and authorized to do business in the state we have spent considerable time to make the details of this video simple and easy to understand however we cover a lot of ground and you're going to hear a lot of new terminology we do recommend that after you watch this video you watch it a second time in order to fully comprehend all the information provided please make sure you have watched the first lesson on researching your LLC's name your desired LLC name must be available for use before you proceed with filing your LLC formation documents registered office and registered agent your LLC is required to list a registered office and a registered agent within your LLC formation documents the registered office is an address located in the state where your LLC is formed it can be an actual street address or it can be a Pio box if it is a Pio box the owner of the Pio box must be a resident of the state of Ohio a registered agent is a person or a company who agrees to accept legal mail and important documents on behalf of your LLC in Ohio they use the term statutory agent but this means the same thing as a registered agent for our purposes we will refer to it as registered agent the registered agent is located at the registered office and is generally accessible during normal business hours as we mentioned a registered agent can be a person or a company who hasn't address in the state where your LLC is formed you as an individual can be your LLC's registered agent however your LLC cannot be its own registered agent for individuals who have an address in the state it is most common that they serve as the LLC's registered agent having said that the individual person you choose as the registered agent does not need to be a member of the LLC it can be a friend or a family member or frankly anyone you know who agrees to accept service of process on behalf of your LLC service of process is a delivery of legal mail and important documents sent from the state or a law firm to your LLC correspondence from the state can include items such as business requirements late notices and copies of formation documents legal documents can include items such as subpoenas and/or complaints for legal action again the purpose of designating a registered agent is to authorize someone to accept service of process on behalf of your LLC whoever agrees to be your LLC's registered agent aka statutory agent must sign your LLC formation documents if you intend to be the registered agent for your LLC you basically appoint yourself and you will sign where indicated in your LLC formation documents if you have someone else serve as your LLC's registered agent you will need to have them sign your LLC formation documents confirming that they agree to be your LLC's registered agent you cannot mail in your LLC formation documents until you have the signature of the registered agent even if it's just yourself takeaways the purpose of a registered agent and its registered office is to be a point of contact for the state and to accept service of process for your LLC you or someone you know can be your LLC's registered agent so long as you have an address in the state if you don't have an address in the state that you can use or you don't want to serve as your LLC's registered agent you can hire a commercial registered agent using a commercial registered agent will also help protect your privacy as the
