hi there I'm just going to go through what it takes to performing Michigan Business any research this is a function that we suggest you utilize if you're registering a new business and you like to find out whether the operating name you plan on using is indeed available in the state of Michigan you can also just use it to generally research any business on file with the Department of Licensing & regulatory affairs and gain access to their business details in the filing history so one can search by name one can search by keyword and one can search by identification number so let's go over each one of those here so search by name first thing you need to do is go to this web page and enter in the name into the provided field and you know let's just go that now let's see what we can do you so yeah you have search database my name and your name or ID number so let's enter in banana I'm sure it will be at least one banana there we go so you're going to get a list of all these different entity types and let's do banana splits because that sounds hilarious dad split incorporated um so yeah you get all the business information that the Department of Licensing & regulatory affairs or Lara or Lara Lara made available to the public and you can click here training session I let's try to find one back here that hasn't been dissolved yeah okay this one hasn't been dissolved still operating it's active but not in good standing and you can find in some other information here but you can also click view document images and then you can review their say articles of organization that they submitted in theory if your computer isn't actually got but you can do that um alright let's go back here now you can search by keyword let's do the same thing banana running okay now i should say that searching the database by name are searching by keyword well of course bring you a list of different names now for whatever reason this is taking its sweet time here on clearly i need to get a new computer alright but it's pretty much going to be the same thing in search of my name but searching by ID number let's see if we can't find an ID number this one will work let's go back and say you've got your ID number it's like this you enter it in to the field and you click search there you go first thing I comes up as the banana pay investments and then you can click on the entity name of course and get there I'll business information now you can also provide or perform rather a name available name availability search okay um and let's see you click here on our on our tutorials always bring you straight there you're going to get a page that looks like this and you're just going to enter it in so let's do banana sandwich and click search and if you're in luck it will say no no conflict found chances are the name is available now if you got it if this said you know a name not available there's a good chance that if you submit your filing forms with this name anyway are you going to get rejected um what's essentially I perform a name availability search and we suggest that you do that before each registration you may provide him that you are going to do more than one alright hope that was helpful good luck guys

Paul - Mary Studios Incorporated or you found a Peter comma Paul comma and Mary studios Incorporated again both of these examples are too similar and therefore your desired LLC name would not be available for use an alternative example would be ppm productions LLC alphanumeric differences in numerical or written numbers does not create distinguished ability for example let's say your desired LLC name is three teachers Consulting LLC with the number three spelled out but during your search of the database you found the company called three teachers Consulting LLC with the number three again these are deceptively similar the state does not look at these as any different and therefore your desired LLC name would not be available for use an alternative example would be a few good teachers Consulting LLC deceptively similar names that are too similar to existing organized entities also do not create distinguished ability for example your desired LLC name is speedy delivery services LLC but during your search let's say you find a speed delivery services LLC or you find a super speedy delivery services LLC again these names are too similar therefore your desired LLC name would not be available for use an example of an alternative would be at your door quick LLC takeaways as you can see just filing your paperwork with your desired LLC name is not as straightforward as you may have originally thought the most important takeaways from showing you all these examples are as follows it's important to make sure your name is truly unique and not too similar to the names of existing organized entities if your desired LLC name is unavailable for use either by its exact match already being used or by it being too similar to an existing name we recommend using some creativity and coming up with the variation of your original LLC name so that the name is now unique and is distinguishable and stands apart from other businesses some additional tips to think of when creating your LLC name are make your LLC name easy to spell you want to make sure people can find you when they're looking for you make your LLC name short shorter names are easier for people to remember make your LLC name have a positive connotation leave people with a good feeling when they hear about your business you are now ready to search your desired LLC name against the state's online database we showed you a number of examples where the desired LLC names were not available for use but don't worry in the next part of this video we will provide plenty of examples of names that are avai
