brew brew the Super Bowl ad battle between anheuser-busch and Miller Coors is bubbling into an all-out war both companies are taking jabs at each other through TV ads and even billboards due to their respective uses of corn syrup Fox News's Alicia hakuna live in Colorado with the latest Alicia it looks like the Miller is now loitering up absolutely that's right Susan this happened just this afternoon in federal court in Wisconsin Molson Coors filed suit against anheuser-busch over the specific ads that you're talking about and we did receive a statement from anheuser-busch in response this lawsuit it says in part quote we stand behind the Bud Light transparency campaign and have no plans to change the advertising here is one of those ads to be clear we brew Coors Light with corn syrup brewed with no corn syrup that was during the Superbowl and Miller Coors pushed back explaining corn syrup is used in the fermentation process not the final product and it's filing today it said anheuser-busch quote launched a false and misleading advertising campaign targeting Miller Lite and Coors Light in order to deceive beer consumers in a statement the company followed up saying quote this deliberate deception is bad for the entire beer category we are showing the world of the truth now after those first ads aired it got even more personal for Coors which was born in Golden Colorado and higher Bush put up billboards with a similar message some right in the heart of course country they read in succession Coors Light uses corn syrup but light we don't and 100% less corn syrup than Coors Light then this week Miller Coors hit back with ads that show actors playing the Bud Light night and others walking off the commercial set to crack open what a Miller Lite before being sued anheuser-busch told us why they brought up corn syrup if you look across most of food and beverage there's an expectation on ingredient transparency and we think beers a little bit behind so this is not about transparency which I know is there is their mantra this is really marketing ploy by Bud Light it's not working and Susan critics inside the beer industry say this is more of a distraction from the real in gist industry problem of slumping beer sales she's right Alicia thank you so much
