hello everyone I'm back with another video and I'm going to show you how to form your LLC in New York State for under $1,000 with these four easy steps and you won't need to use any of those third-party services so stay tuned okay so we are already assuming that you have chosen a name once you have chosen a name you want to make sure that this name isn't already taken so you're going to go to the business and corporate entity database and you're going to type in that name and see if it's already taken it's super easy super quick I know there's also a feature where you can send a letter I guess to New York State with along with $20 and they'll check it for the whole system through their whole system I mean but this is also a very easy and simple way to do this I did not do that I just did a preliminary search on their website my name wasn't taken so I went and bought the domain immediately the dot-com is going to be your best bet because it ranks higher in Google than maybe dot NYC I would also grab the social handles so that's Twitter Facebook Instagram or your big three that you want to grab as soon as possible and just hold on to it don't feel the need to post anything just hold on to that name alright so next you're gonna file your articles of organization you can do this by mail fax or online the cost is $200 and this is a super easy form I'll link in the description box on how you fill out this form and you're gonna send it in with $200 and you're gonna wait a second when you get your filing receipt you do want to make as many copies as you feel like you need put them in different places because they do not issue copies of this so if you lose it I think that's it I don't know what happens then but you want to keep your filing receipt the third step is you're gonna publish your articles of organization in your local newspapers you cannot choose which newspapers and I think this is where a lot of people get confused you cannot choose the newspapers so you're gonna call the county clerk in the county that you are registering in and you're gonna ask them what papers do I need to publish in they will likely give you the phone number and you're gonna call them and tell them they'll send you an invoice you'll pay for it I believe mines was around 540 dollars and they'll publish it for six weeks so for six weeks you're not gonna do anything it's gonna be published in the newspaper this step is to prevent I guess like it's like at a wedding when people are like does anyone have any objections to this Union same situation with the newspaper situation you're gonna wait six weeks after the six weeks they'll send you an affidavit the affidavit you will file again with the division of corporations I believe yes the divisional corporations along with the certificate of publication form and $50.00 so there's gonna be three things in your envelope your two affidavits from the newspapers they require you to publish in your certificate of publication form and your $50.00 feet be getting your operating agreement together get your EIN start your trade marketing process but then you're done that's that's literally all you have to do anyway guys I hope this was helpful I hope that this prevents you from wasting a little bit of money as a start-up you have to conserve every dollar that you possibly can and I totally understand please reach out to me if you have any questions at all girl on Instagram thank you so much

this is a chore every car owner has to do every year and that is get that car inspected it costs everybody the same amount twenty one dollars for the state of inspection sticker that you have on your car that's right the New York State Department of Motor Vehicle requires the inspection to make sure your car is safe to be on the road but in tonight's New York State exposed report Rebecca LeClair talks to prepare shop owners who complain the inspection system is costing them because they say the process is rigged in favor of the highest bidder now we're talking about the process the State Department of Motor Vehicles has set up for shop owners to get a license to actually do inspections on your car for some they're saying is costing them tens of thousands of dollars and that's way out of their price range he has to license businesses in Honeoye Ontario County but says he can't expand or hire more employees without a third license to do state vehicle inspections facilities like mine that have auto repair used car sales a growing business and I cannot have an inspection station for my customers why is that who do you blame New York State there's businesses that want to grow in state of New York there's businesses that are leaving the state of New York this might be one of the reasons why in 2011 the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles put a cap on the number of inspection stations by County Monroe County's cap is four hundred fifty-four licenses there are 31 shops on a waiting list Kurtis showed us Ontario counties cap is 85 but since there are 99 licenses already in existence he has to wait for 14 licensed owners to go out of business or retire well what is the state said to you you're on the waiting list that's it what else have they said to you that's it you're on a waiting list but why cap the number of licenses I reached out to officials at the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles so you're not making anybody available to us no interviews but they responded with an email that said the cap quote ensured that there is a manageable network of properly regulated inspection stations and also said an applicant can buy an existing business with an inspection stations license in good standing I went to the president of the State Association of service stations and repair shops so one guy could sell his license for $10,000 another guy could sell it for $20,000 that's correct so what would you do to get a license with the cap already and there's waiting lists I try to negotiate the best deal at class so you get with uh with a person on that has their license listed either on Craigslist or word-of-mouth we went on Craigslist Tuesday and found one operation in Ulster County selling a licensed business for $35,000 and another in Buffalo for $30,000 which is way more than Todd Curtis budgeted he estimated applying for a new license and buying the required computer system from the state would cost him about five thousand dollars total I'm willing to give the state five thousand dollars to get my license why do I have to buy one off the street for 35 I checked the State DMV website every county around Rochester has a waiting list for shops trying to get licensed and even if you're saying to yourself right now I've ever had trouble finding a place to get an inspection why do we need more places well coming up at 6 we asked if the state system is creating a black market now in the meantime if you'd like to give your opinion to the State Department of Motor Vehicles the number to call is

Thanks PlainiachindyW your participation is very much appreciated
