State of ga LLC annual registration

in this video I'm going to show you how to either download print and mail your annual registration fee or how to pay and file online there's a link below this video which will take you to the state's website I'm gonna click on corporations which will scroll the page down and then let's click on file online you should have already created a CE gov 360 account if you have not done so already please make sure to watch the video on how to do that in this case I'm going to log on I'm going to enter my username and password and then I'm gonna click the log on button once you're logged on you will see four tabs you want to be on the first tab on the left it says business filings let's first discuss downloading printing and then mailing in the annual registration fee you're going to go under the reports column where it says angle registration and you're going to find a link that says print your annual registration - LLC it's right here for me it's the third one down the list I'm going to click that link what you're going to do is you're going to enter the name of your LLC you do not need to include the letters LLC in my example I'm gonna be using a sample company by the name of Peachtree prompters LLC I'm just going to enter in Peachtree prompters with the name and instead of the search depth exact I'm just going to go starts with and then I'm going to click search you'll see here is the LLC in question so I'm going to click on the name of the LLC next I'm going to enter the report year remember the annual registration fee is paid for the year going forward not the year prior like taxes I'm going to enter 2014 for this example and click Next on this page all you do is hit next at the bottom the next page will say complete and you'll see annual registration document you're going to click this icon here and it will load up a new window what I first recommend doing is if you hover your mouse on the screen in the lower right hand corner some icons will appear or you can print this directly from this page or you can save it recommend saving at first by clicking on this disk icon and then saving that to your computer after you've done that you can go ahead and hit the print icon and print this document out let's take a quick look at the document you can see here that it's two pages however the second page is just blank so you really only need the first page the information will be a little chopped off here underneath the registered agent address and how this works is you're going to send this back in follow the instructions above make sure to include your 50 dollar payment and if no information is changing this year you will simply fill out the bottom and sign let me zoom in a little bit here and let's take a closer look let's say that no changes need to be made if that's the case the only thing you need to do is fill in the date fill in your title here you can enter managing member again that's managing member and then put your email address over here and then sign where it says authorized signature you're then going to mail this slip along with your payment to the address listed at the top of this document if you do need to make any changes to the information you'll simply just fill in the boxes here and if the county does change as well that goes over here you can see the existing county is - Cobb County for this example just to repeat if you're making changes simply fill in the forms here make sure you also fill in the county box if the county is changing you're going to sign date title as managing member and put your email address in as well another very important note is that the state of Georgia does not send reminders telling you when to pay your annual registration fee make sure that you do this every year or the state will assess late fees and eventually they will dissolve or shut down your LLC if you continue to ignore this requirement I'm going to close this window and let's look at our second option of filing and paint online I'm going to click home gonna go back to business filings and instead of under the reports column I'm gonna go under miscellaneous limited liability company and you'll see here it says annual registration LLC online I'm going to click that link it gives you some information here about the filing procedures feel free to take a read through then click Next at the bottom next in the search box you're going to enter your LLC name I'm going to go ahead and enter my sample company I'm gonna hit search depth starts with and click search here's Peachtree prompters LLC I'm going to click the name next I'm going to fill in the year that I'm filing this report all you'll need to do on this page is simply go through all of the fields here and update the address and the information as needed if no changes need to be made you can simply leave everything as is once you review all the information and make any changes if applicable again if nothing changes just leave with the same let's click Next next we're going to fill in the signer information this will be yourself the person filing this what you're going to do on this page you're going to simply fill out your name at the top and then include your address include your email and then under executing officer type you're going to select the drop down and you're going to go down to member slash manager at the bottom once everything is done here you can go ahead and click Next the next page is simply a review take a brief through all the information make sure it's correct if so go ahead and click Next if you need to make any changes just click the back button I'm gonna click Next in this case here is where we're going to enter our payment it shows the amount to of $50 and for payment type I'm going to select credit card what you'll do on this page is simply enter your credit card information the name on the card the billing address your phone number card type credit card information and hit next since I'm just showing you an example I cannot proceed past this step so once you fill out all the information go ahead and click Next shortly after this step you'll see a success message and your annual registration fee will be filed again remember that the state of Georgia does not send any reminders for when the annual registration fee is due it's your responsibility to make sure that you file on time every year even if no information within your company has changed you still have to update the state with your records on an annual basis and that concludes the annual registration be lesson

the following information is provided for educational purposes only and in no way constitutes legal tax or financial advice for legal tax or financial advice specific to your business needs we encourage you to consult with a licensed attorney and/or CPA in your state the following information is copyright protected no part of this lesson may be redistributed copied modified or adapted without prior written consent of the author as we mentioned earlier there are ongoing requirements for your LLC with the state of Georgia the first of these is called the annual registration fee which we will discuss in this lesson the second of these is filing your LLC's state taxes they will discuss that further in lesson 7 the state requires that you pay a fee each year as well as provide updated contact information for your LLC in most states this is referred to as your annual report but the official name in Georgia is the annual registration fee we feel the term annual registration fee can be a little confusing since it not only includes a fee but it also includes a report your LLC's contact information throughout this video we may refer to it as the annual registration fee or the annual report but they both mean the same thing again you paying a fee and filing a report with your LLC's updated contact information the annual registration fee is $50 it must be paid every year between January 1st and April 1st your annual registration fee pays for the year in which you are filing it does not like taxes where you pay for the prior year you can send your payment online or you can mail it into the state however the state must receive payment no later than April 1st if the state does not receive your payment by April 1st your LLC will be charged a late fee of $25 which means you'll now owe 75 dollars total if you continue to ignore this requirement the state will eventually dissolve shut down your LLC the state does not send you a reminder to pay your annual registration fee it is your responsibility to make sure that you pay and update your records on time each year because of this we suggest you put a repeating reminder on your calendar so you can keep your LLC in compliance with the state remember your annual registration fee is - between January 1st and April 1st so we recommend paying as early as possible pain earlier in the year will also mean that you have one less thing to worry about during tax season Georgia has three ways in which you can file and pay your anger registration fee the first option is to go to the state's website and print out your anger report you will then mail it to the state along with the fifty dollar filing fee the second option is to go the state's website and filed the annual report online you'll pay the fifty dollar filing fee with a debit or credit card the third option is to call the state at the beginning of the year and have them send you the annual report they can send it to you by regular mail or by email once you receive the form from the state you will confirm the information in your annual report is correct sign it and mail it back to the state with a fifty dollar filing fee if you choose the third option you can find the state's contact information below this video if you prefer either of the first two options you will need to create what's called AC gov 360 account on the state's website the registration process is very simple and we will walk you through the steps now we are now ready to register for AC gov 360 account the link below this video will take you there let's get started in this video I'm going to show you how to create AC gov 360 account again the link below this video I should take you directly there let's just say if you're having any issues let me show you how to get there alternatively you can see I'm at google.com you can go ahead and just do a search for GA secretary of state go ahead and click search it'll be this first one here you see how it says SOS GA gov you can click that or alternatively you can just go directly to SOS GA gov and hit return or enter on the keyboard the first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to click corporations at the top it will scroll the page down for me I'm going to go down here and I'm going to click a file online it takes you to a logon page what you're going to do here is you're going to click directly on the register for a/c gov 360 account this is a free account and again this is required in order to download your annual registration fee or in order to file and pay it online so what you're going to do is just simply fill out the form fields here you're going to enter a username and a password you're gonna enter your first name your last name looks like over here on the right you're going to confirm that password that you enter over here into your email address and then down here you're going to go ahead and just enter your street address right here city state and zip and then go ahead and at the register button once you've registered it will now take you to a new page you'll see four tabs across the top and also please write down the username and the password that you created for your C go 360 account this is important information and Georgia will also send you a confirmation email that confirmation email will not have a copy of your password but it will just give you confirmation that you registered and it will have your username there again make sure to save that login information in an important place next we're going to discuss either downloading your annual registration fee and filing by mail or filing and paying the angle registration fee online we've included that in a separate video and you can find that video directly below the one you are watching now and this concludes the video on how to register for a siik of 360 account
